Cant find what Ben. Ur racist and prejudice comments. No I removed those things back when u posted them and they were addressed (we had a member who had brought to the sites attention, in public and in private to me) the fact that a gay member is upset over your comments about sexual orientation.Now ive given u a warning to check yourself as this has been finished. I'd like to read both answers. If you're a cop then you are in plain clothes and carrying IWB and have your badge at the ready. If you're a civi, you're carrying IWB.

Oh, as far as the airport question... I forgot, I wouldn't do shit because being in an airport I would've already been ass raped by know nothing TSA fucks, so I would most likely stand there, call the police and pray for a happy ending.

That's actually just a movie quote but your question leaves a lot of unknowns. What environment am I in? Do I have cover nearby? If so, I'm taking cover first. Once secure and out of the shooters sight I would draw my weapon and choose what to do next based on what other things are going on. There's really no right answer. You protect yourself first. With a weapon on your side you do no one any good dead

Chris is right and there are alot of unknowns. Even when training at work (desk top training) the situations are very specific...sometimes even with diagrams or actual rooms set up.

With that being said... if I am a civilian and the subject has drawn down on me, but Im concealed and he does not know I am carrying, I will comply and hope he does not shoot me or view me as a threat. PERIOD.

If the opportunity were to arise, I may or may not engage him later as a civilian. As a civilian, goal number one is to stay alive,...

As a uniformed Officer, I already have a target on me... So if within arms reach, I will attempt to go hands on to get the gun away from him... not necessarily take it, however we do train to disarm when in close range. If he is not close enough to me, I will do my best to take cover, and engage with my side arm and as stated before, hope my luck and training do not expire together.

The reason for the different answers is as a POLICE OFFICER, I am legally obligated to act... LEGALLY. As a civilian I am not. 13 years ago, when I signed my employment papers, I knew tht meant I was willing to lay down my life in the pursuit of keeping those around me safe and unharmed.

As a Police Officer goal number one, is the safety of those around me.

If those do not answer good enough, please add more detail, and I will be happy to try again.
