Is exactly what I have been hoping to see come available. The swap into a 4th gen is not impossible with the right time and tools and the price is not horrible considering you get a complete drivetrain and the suspension. If I had the money I would cut up 93 to put this in.

I'm thinking of keeping the beetle body when I am done with the car. I envision a vette chassis swap in that body. I'm gonna keep the 93 as is, mainly because of the obd1 and delaware inspection.

So this chopshop is in Mississippi? Really, that complete of a drivetrain out of the blue? A totaled Vette would not be that complete in that good of condition, IMO...

Speartech has a harness for one I saw on another site. I don't know how you could make it work dimensionally, but it would be cool to build a street rod with one of those chassis if you were some sort of awesome hot rod builder. I just don't think the Gen 5 will be as popular with the typical LS1 build. It isn't huge leaps and bounds above the last Gen IV stuff and I think the direct injection will scare off most your typical LS1 crowd. Plus the Gen III and Gen IV stuff has so much after market support and the combos are tried and duplicated constantly. Blocks are plentiful both stock and after market, heads are every where, stock and after market. Just about any intake you want is also out there. So it's a mix a cost to performance ratio and ease of the build. I have a friend building a Roadster Shop Chassis 72 Camaro, that will have a Gen 5 LT1 but it's a different kind of build you know? Kind of on level with a SEMA type car than a general enthusiast build. That's the cars I see getting Gen 5 LT1s, more so show case cars than anything. Average guy and build is going to stick with what's easy and makes power.

This would make the ultimate LTx based 4th gen, IHMO.
As as aside, I agree with Neil350. The LSX has become the new SBC and it will be a long time before a new crew of hotrodders are actually really modding the GEN V LT1. The tech with Direct Injection and the PCM control of valve events is totaly beyond, but it really limits how much we can extend it beyond stock.
