I understand what you are saying here but I really think there is a bigger market for this block than you think. Look around and count how many 383/396 LT1's you see or have heard of. It costs roughly $1200-$1500 for the block machining and splayed caps to convert a 350 into a 4-bolt 383. Every one of the guys who built a 383 would be a potential customer for this Dart block assuming they kept the price in check with their other SHP offerings.
If you were building a 383 and knew it was going to run you $1500 to get the block ready, and Dart was selling a big-cube LT1 block for $1700 that could go out to 434 cubes, what would you buy?'94 coupe, 10.15 at 133.65 414" LT1, 4500 stall, n/a, pump gas, mufflers, street trim

EXACTLTY!!
All the LS1tech guys want to talk about is the strength of the stock block. I don't give a shit if the stock block can handle 1000hp. A 434 cube motor will make noticeably more power than a 383 cube motor all things being the same. I don't want an 8000rpm 383 LT1 that makes 675hp. I want a 6750rpm 434 that makes 675hp, that I can cruise with and whack with a 250 shot.
THERE IS NO REPLACEMENT FOR DISPLACEMENT!!!
I guess alot of people have forgetten that.'94 coupe, 10.15 at 133.65 414" LT1, 4500 stall, n/a, pump gas, mufflers, street trim
