I understand what you are saying here but I really think there is a bigger market for this block than you think. Look around and count how many 383/396 LT1's you see or have heard of. It costs roughly $1200-$1500 for the block machining and splayed caps to convert a 350 into a 4-bolt 383. Every one of the guys who built a 383 would be a potential customer for this Dart block assuming they kept the price in check with their other SHP offerings.

If you were building a 383 and knew it was going to run you $1500 to get the block ready, and Dart was selling a big-cube LT1 block for $1700 that could go out to 434 cubes, what would you buy?

people on LS1tech dont seem to get the idea though. Apparently if you arent planning on running 8s you dont need this block

    EXACTLTY!!

All the LS1tech guys want to talk about is the strength of the stock block. I don't give a shit if the stock block can handle 1000hp. A 434 cube motor will make noticeably more power than a 383 cube motor all things being the same. I don't want an 8000rpm 383 LT1 that makes 675hp. I want a 6750rpm 434 that makes 675hp, that I can cruise with and whack with a 250 shot.

THERE IS NO REPLACEMENT FOR DISPLACEMENT!!!

I guess alot of people have forgetten that.
