a lot of people say its a waste to use anything other than stock, but i've been having the same issues for 3 years! ARP makes a locking header bolt kit. There's also the cheap set from autozone, but I'm not sure how well those work... they look cheap.

if you use studs you will most likely have to take the studs out every time you remove th headers or change gaskets... i would just get the ARP 5/16" 12 point header bolts in stainless... i didnt have much of a prob with them. take them to a machine shop and get them to drill holes through the heads of the bolts and get some safety wire pliers and wire and tie them, that will do it.

well ive got a set of pacesetter headers on my car and im sure they came with some kind of arp bolts but even with lock washers on them they still back themselfs out. so if someone can give me a part number for the header studs for an lt1 93-97 that would be awsome lol.

the cheap 1'' long header bolts w/the locking wire work just fine. mine have never backed out and they only cost 12 bucks
