    i think all the bottom (short) ones do, did you clean the threads in the block when you did the hg's

    I know all the short ones do, plus the middle. didn't look like the top ones did. As far as cleaning the threads- no.

    hard to tell. thermostat test out fine

    Edit: After I reinstalled the stat, I was adding coolant and bleeding the system when I heard the water pump making noise. I even felt it through the socket/ratchet I had on the bleeder screw. The water pump is under warantee. Let's keep our fingers crossed.

    Water pump impeller broke off the shaft. All fixed now.
