Mids arent usually bad to install, and no cutting or welding (aside from the actual cutting of the stock exhaust) should have to be done. Most exhaust systems just bolt up with band clamps.
Mids like shortys are fairly small, and should not give you too much trouble going in.
Make sure you get new gaskets and such when installing the mids, and tighten those band clamps down GOOD once you have everything lined up properly.Nick

I would invest in some good gaskets and header bolts so the gaskets do not blow out. ARP or Stage 8 will do the trick for bolts.

Stage 8 P/N - 8911-A
ARP P/N - 400-1210
Be sure to get the 1" long bolts. Both part numbers reflect that. Any of the sponsors here should be able to help you out with that.

Do you have the Y also? The only thing I had to do is dent one of the tubes so it would miss the steering shaft. They tuck up nice under the car. My car is lowered 1.5 also. I used the bolts that came with them, but seal for good gasked, with no problems.
