Those videos will probably help. The pulley and fan do come off when you remove the nut. That I remember, there is a bearing behind the fan that stays on the outside of the case. The rotor slides straight out but as soon as you remove it, the springs that are behind the brushes will pop out. That's why you'll need a piece off wire to hold them in place for re-installing the rotor. Everything else inside just un-bolts. Pretty straight forward. Just take your time.

I sanded mine to a smooth finish then painted. You could instead.
