Default Sold roller cam with 383?

I wanted to ask my fellow LTX fans. I'm in the process of gatherings parts to do a 383/396 build with a fully forged rotating assembly and splayed main caps. With AFR 227 heads with 1.6 ratio rocker,LT4 intake 58mm throttle body, 3600 stall and 373 gears.? Looking to have CR 12/1 street/strip.
Not sure if I want to run a sold roller cam or roller cam do to the fact of using the car on the street the majority of the time.

Solid roller cams have been run on the street for a long time. You don't have to check the lash nearly as often as you did back in the 60's.

What's your target hp? That will determine the rpm and cam lobe aggressiveness. 450hp NA at the tires is easily do-able through an A4 at ~6500 rpm. And HR setups are good for 7000 rpm also. If your hp and rpm targets are much above that, then a SR cam makes sense, WITH shaft rockers.
HR setups are a lot cheaper to run. I've been HR for 6 years, making 430-440 to the tires, and shifting at 7100 rpm in a 350. Including 2 seasons of roadcourse duty.
Your mild TC and gearing is already a mismatch for those 227 heads, and makes me think a SR setup won't be of much value to you.

Thank you @ bowtienut for your input hope the following answered your questions.
The current TC and gear are set for my current setup. Witch is a low compression 383 with cast bottom end with small cam. I'm reaching out to the ltx community looking for advise on my future build just getting parts together. That way when disassembly is done I have the parts ready to go back together again and have very durable engine package. The hp I would like to get to the neighborhood of 550-600 @ the flywheel NA, and the possibility of some power adder in the future with minimal part swapping. I do not plan at this time to have stand lone pcm I would like to stay with the stock pcm and wiring which limits rpms to 7000.
I do know the current are to tall for the current setup. I stated above that I'm getting parts together for a future buld I'm not set with staying with that gear but I would like to be able to cruise the car on the street strip with highway driving as well. I may need to go to a 396 displacement. The build will be built around the AFR 227 heads with shaft mounted rockers.

Well, if you're committing to shaft rockers, you're already about halfway there toward solid roller.
550 flywheel in a stroker is HR territory to me, and easily do-able with the stock PCM. 600 is definitely SR, and only a handful have achieved it with the stock PCM.
Since you say "cruise" and "highway driving", my personal preference would have been to stick with a HR setup and a comfortable 575 hp. But.... even at that level, if you're honest with yourself that you'll need to keep an eye on things via regular valvetrain inspections, then a SR setup can give you one helluva power curve.

I will continue research. The SR sounds like a good plan. As said in this thread that the Sr and shaft mount rockers and street able Sr. I will have to check the rocker valve lash frequently. I will reach out to @ NightTrain66 spec out cam. I also better start looking for a good tuner in Colorado. It will take a while to find one.

    Thanks again for your input.
