I bought a new one just to temporarily have in my car so I can get something decent with a mount. Too much new wiring with my car to risk not driving without one. Despite almost everything having a fuse and cleanly soldered and wrapped wires, you just can never be too careful.

Excellent advise. All ofnour patrol cars have extinguishers in the trunk... not mounted... in 14 years... ive had 2 bounce around and go off in the car. In the impala it was not that bad cause it was a trunk... but in the old blazer... it choked me out at 80mph.... i had to call off a pursuit because it filled the whole interior.
