Shift points tuning
Alright I kind of have a rant/question. I raced a Evo 8 over the weekend. His mods are stock 20psi. My mods are inlet elbow 3:73 gears b&m shift kit drag radials. We were pretty dead even out of the hole but when I went into second it started hitting the limiter and eventually hit second. Is this caused by me not getting my shift points tuned. Moral of the story I lost by 2 cars and it sucks.

I'm running a 275/50/15 et radial on the back Richmond 3:73 gears aluminum inlet elbow pacesetter long tube headers. Y pipe 3 inch straight pipe back to the muffler. And trans is just a stock a4 with a shift kit. And the gears have been in for about a month now. I haven't raced anyone till this. And we ran twice and it did it both times.

and the number one question, was it tuned for the gears? I know you said the trans is stock, so the converter is also stock correct?

You have to re-tune for the gears. With the lower gears your never hitting the shift speed before you hit Fuel cutoff RPM. Lots of things need to be tuned for the gear change.
Steps are re-calibrate the speed
Re set all shift MPH
May need to tune pressures etc as well for the stall.
Do you have data logging / tuning software?
