lt1 fuel pump alternative?
Well if y'all haven't caught on yet, I'm cheap .
Trying to figure out a cheap alternative fuel pump replacement. I see some 255 lph ones on eBay for like 40.00 but they don't come with wiring. I also see that the walboro kits come with wiring and a relay. I don't necessarily want to upgrade, just looking for cheap.
I replaced the fuel pump on the camaro 3.8 with an eBay replacement for an s10 or something. Had the same output, but I had to kind of customize the fit because its just a small pump like the walboro ones seem to be. Where as if you buy a stock replacement it comes with the whole housing...
So basically would anyone know a part number for a cheap replacement pump only or a fuel pump rating for the stock unit? Or can I just use the 255 without the relay? Is it gonna burn something up? This is why I would rather hang close to stock....lolLast edited by zoomo; 05-26-2015 at 10:51 AM.

Last time I checked, fuel pump assemblies ranged from 50-150 depending on brand/quality for our cars. Single Walbro pumps can be had pretty cheap, though. Have you reached out to BDB or Gail? That is your best bet. I know Gail is a delco distributor and probably the vest brand for stock applications.

Do you want a good OEM fuel pump? I've got a couple that you can have if you cover shipping costs.

I would love to buy one from Gail or bdb , I'm sure the quality is much better but at this point I'm a cheap get by in life kinda guy ha!
When I do work on customers cars I always preach the importance of quality parts..
With that being said....formula, I would be very interested in a good used one! I didn't even think of that route. Just pm how much shipping and where to pay you when you get time.
No hurry really, my pumps not actually broken.
I'm just more paranoid and wanting a spare than anything as it seems the fuel in the tank is getting hot when i drive for hours and the car died on me a month or two ago, kinda acted like a pump...or an icm... so I'll just cut the trap door out and put a spare in the tire hole for in case of emergency. Come to think of it, I am going to contact the sponsors here just to see what their price range is....I got excited earlier ha.
I might still want to get yours instead formula, if they are too high for me...but I would be glad to pay you something for it if I do, I kinda feel like the resident parts bum around here
