97 lt1 dies randomly
So I've got an lt1 out of a 97 camaro that is currently sitting in an old Mazda rx7. I did the swap about 8 months ago and it has been running great until recently it keeps dying in the staging lanes at the track. Random as if spark was all the sudden cut, but would start up fine and run great after.
It died on me mid run one night and would not restart, so I towed it home and put a new ICM in and she started right up.
Fast forward to another night at the track, keeps dying randomly in the staging lanes and then one run it runs like absolute garbage, missing with no power and then the next it runs great. We decided to call it a night to avoid breaking on the track.
Car ran fine and was towed home, get in to start it and pull it off the trailer and go figure it won't start.
Pushed it into the garage and it sat for a week. I just went out and it fired right up and ran good, a little rough on idle and then died after about 5 mins and now won't start.
WTF!
Is my opti toying with me or what?!
Any input is appreciated!
This is a drift car so it gets the shit beaten out of it every time it is taken out if that makes any difference
Thanks in advance guys!

Definitely check the basics. But more often then not intermittent dying like that does sound like our good ol opti. Changed and check all of the smaller stuff first then tackled the opti. I had drive it for 20 mins then it dies sometimes restarted right away other times had to wait like 30 minutes. And it did run poorly some days otgers ran normal. Spark was weak and figured opti was it
Arctic White 1996 Z28. Stock internal LT1, CAI, LM1, MGW Shifter, 3.73's, some suspension junk, and shiny salad shooters (retired). Forgestar F14's 18x10 on all 4. Fun stuff coming soon. Also, Cali smog regulations suck...period. **Insert witty quote here** LT1FTW that is all. Have a nice day.
