    Default edlebrock intake

i know they dont show much/any gain out of the box, but are their any advantages to a fully ported one over a fully ported stock intake?

I don't know the answer to your question, but Lloyd could probably help. However, on a related note, I do have an Edlebrock LT1 intake I would sell pretty cheap if you are interested.

cool depending on the answer, a friend of mine might be interested... he's running a 408 lt1 with trickflow heads and stock ported intake...

The ede intakes do have a lil larger ports and longer runners BUT a MUCH smaller plenum and actually make LESS power than a stock LT1 intake.

A ported GM LT1 intake is a better set up and will make more power.

Edelbrock intake is only a viable option for lt4 heads if you can't find a real lt4 intake, or don't want to have the flange on an lt1 intake reworked to fit the lt4 heads. Like Lloyd said, the smaller plenum hurts power.

Mine is the edelbrock airgap.... Idk if its the same as whats being ref'd to. I do know that many people have told me that its nothing more than a "door stop" and I do not know how it compares on my application as I did heads when I installed it (and Im a boosted application).

With that being said, It was a package deal with a set of AFR 227 eliminators, and everything was NIB and cheaper as a package than buying just the heads new from AFR.

AND...I needed it, because the heads are LT4 style, and so is the intake...
