1980 Malibu '94 LT! SWAP/BUILD
So, I guess this is where I start. Well, i've had the car since 1998. When I bought it, it had that god-awful 4.4l V-8. 267 cubic inches of shit, it was. Three speed metric bullshit transmission, and it only started every other day. I only paid $125 for it. It also featured; 3 different style hubcaps, body side moldings, and a beautiful anarchy symbol carved into the rear armrest. I worked in a machine shop after high school, so I got a 4 bolt main 350 and 700-R4 and had it rebuilt. Almost had it going, then I had to start Ranken. Fast forward to 2013 and a trip to Gateway Motorsports Park. Since they didn't feel it necessary to teach us carbs at school, I was pretty much in the dark. So after a few poor passes I bought the LT1 from a guy cleaning out his shop. The build should start August 30th so I can make it to the shootout. My great friends/classmates at Certified Performance will be there leading the thing and telling me what to do. I'll try to keep this post updated as much as possible. Only have the last few small parts to acquire and tasks to perform before the swap, so until then...1053142_419580638172573_732104825_o.jpg1654928_419577178172919_2066861395_o.jpg1523275_419577211506249_1730348414_o.jpg1518045_419577234839580_206844683_o.jpg1596840_419579804839323_164100298_o.jpg1596754_419579758172661_1537598927_o.jpg1669949_419580051505965_163361540_o.jpg1545852_419580098172627_1504552975_n.jpg1559436_419580318172605_36230467_o.jpg1617689_419580498172587_606931982_o.jpg1622293_419580571505913_1604501369_o.jpg1602023_419580608172576_1799054166_o.jpg

Nice car, I always loved the 2 door Malibu.
I was actually shopping for one to swap my turbo LT1 in but ended up buying the RX7 instead.1989 Mazda RX7 Turbo II, 357ci LT1, AI TFS CNC heads, Garrett GTX4708R, Ford 8.8" SAS, TH400. (Current project)

Big Thanks to everybody! It still needs LOTS of bodywork. And when I put the diff in, I took the diff out to put new clutches in. I still have those twisted steels and friction discs. The axle that was in the R/R was slightly twisted again. I put it in the L/R in hopes of twisting it back straight. LOL. Dropped my sender and fitting off today to have them silver soldered. I figure anything I can get done before next weekend will just put it that much more ahead.
