94 drum rear to 95 disc car?
Anyone know how much of a bitch it is to swap out the drums from a 94 and install my 95 discs?
found a guy with a 3.42 rear in good shape for $50 but it's a 94 with drums.95 Mystic Z28, 17x9 FR, 17x11 RR ZR-1's, Pacesetter LT's and Y-pipe, Borla adjustable, Moroso CAI, 2800 Stall, AC Delete, and Cracked Dash/broken lid Mod.

If it has drum brakes it's from a V6. Are you sure it has a limited slip rear? Posi was optional on the V6 cars.

Rear disc brakes and limited slip diff are standard on all V8 models. I don't think they made rear discs standard on the V6's until the very late 90's. It was possible to get rear discs, a limited slip axle and 3.42 gears in the Y87 package for the V6, but that wasn't available until 1996. Some V6's got a 3.08 rear axle.

You're the man, I appreciate it.
I hit the guy back and he played dumb so I gave up on it anyway.
Now, if I can just get my car to stop surging at 50-55 when it tries to go into OD.....think the lack of a tune and addition of a 2800 stall has it searching for a gear because the RPM's get down so low (2.73)?95 Mystic Z28, 17x9 FR, 17x11 RR ZR-1's, Pacesetter LT's and Y-pipe, Borla adjustable, Moroso CAI, 2800 Stall, AC Delete, and Cracked Dash/broken lid Mod.

tune is recommended if you put a stall in it.
injuneer is correct. all 4th gen v8s came with Posi/disc brakes. v6s had drums unless they had the Y87 package (which was in 96+)1996 Trans Am WS6 M6 - 13.679 at 102.77MPH in 1/4.
