    Default What Injectors?

While at the track today we realized we have 2 dead injectors! We are just a tick above stock at the moment but we will have a le2 hic in the next week or 2 and we are in the r&d stages of our 383 stroker (I'll be asking some mad questions about that later) and don't really want to buy more injectors down the road so.....
which ones should we get? 36, 42 or 48s and what brand??

go thru fuel injector connection and get a version of their bosch 3's. not sure on size for the stroker though, maybe 42's so its once and done unless you boost. whatever you do, stay the hell away from accells

A rule of thumb on minimum injector size for a normally aspirated engine is to multiply expected FLYWHEEL HP by 0.07

That would indicate a 36 #/HR injector is good for 515 flywheel HP and a 42 #/HR is good for 600 flywheel HP. That is based on a brake specific fuel consumption of about 0.476 #/HR/HP and a maximum 85% duty cycle. A more efficient tune will increase the HP supported by the injector. There's really no issue with going larger, within reason.... it reduces duty cycle and allows for future increases. The only time it becomes an issue is turning the pulse width down low enough to get a decent idle. But the stock PCM seems to be capable of controlling 42's with no problem.
