Well Just wanted to time stamp this thread... Camaro is running awesome... i dont think she has ever run so well.

With that being said...

I have a chromoly DS that needa lengthening balanced and installed.

I have a ds loop that also needs installed.

and since I give up.on stopping the rear fro. pissin fluid oit the vent..

Im eiher cappin it.. or putting a catch can set up to keep the mess under control.

Nope they can't... that was one of my concerns when I put this new rear in... they can be shortened but not lengthened. If you have to go longer gotta order a new one unfortunately.

So that rear is still pissing fluid out of that vent?

Yes it is...not pissing... more like spitting.

And yes.. it can be lengthened. Already priced it out... I just dont know if its worth it for my STREET car.

Who said there doing it? I've been told by a couple reputable companies you can't, unless they don't know what there talking about... why would it not be worth it street car or any car for that matter? If its to short you risk hurting a lot of stuff

Its a reputable shop.. in fact all they do is drive shafts.. the reason it would not be worth it ...is the cost is nearly as much as a cf ds...

Larry, I work at a driveshaft manufacturer. we produce and ship over a million shafts a year. although it can be done it is a shortcut, not one i would take in a car putting 600 to the tire. my guess is that they would sleeve it to lengthen it. as well it lowers your critical speed (IE. the speed at which the driveshaft shoots you the middle finger, and you end up with the spy hunter pictoral) lets hope you don't get hurt if that thing lets go. the axle leaking will be nothing in comparison to the fluid undercoating your car.
you can probably you tube a driveshaft letting go on a V6 mustang, that some jack wad decided to remove the speed limiter on. people need to really think about what they are doing when modding their cars. stock components are not designed to perform to the level that race car components perform. I will try to find the link on you tube and post it later tonight.

i mean for $300-$400 , DTS can build you a High Strength Lightweight Alloy driveshaft.send them your yoke and u joints with a measurement and done. or just have your local place build you shaft.

heck you already invested a small fortune into the car what is another 3-400. CF is alot of money, i have thought about it to. but it really wouldn't be much lighter than my driveshaft. we produce those as well, but strictly for one high performance vehicle. low volume. it produces 650 FWHP, is Supercharged, and the most powerful production car of the big 3.

nice thing for me was I was able to rebalance my shaft here at work. it is darn near zero balance, lol!!!

Filled till it came out of the fill....allowed to leak till level.

I think it was 2 maybe 2.5 qts. Its been a while.

I even ran it LOW, and still managed to push.

I figure a catch can with vent will be the easiest fix...because it only started after the pinion angle change....and its nothing more than a brass nipple coming out of the vent NOW.

@BIG CAT did u tell me before u run a catch can set up on ur rear for a spitting issue?
