Stay away from the S-10 style converters. They were originally built for 4 cylinders, so they're not very capable of handling the LT1. We see alot of failures and inefficiencies with those converters. Inefficient converters hurt fuel economy and MPH. They also generate excessive heat. I can get you a nice converter from Protorque that has a little more stall than stock for $350 shipped to you. These are quality converters that are built by the best converter company in the country. Check that flexplate before you drop the money on a converter though. If you need a Flexplate, talk to Gail at American Powerhouse. She's also a vendor on this site. She can get you better prices than anywhere else. 1501425_10152283589874059_1377404505_o.jpg

In fairness to them, diagnosing it on a lift and through a normal drive don't really replicate the problem. You would have to be next to something and stand on the gas or put it under load with the brakes on. I should have walked out and spoken to the tech rather than the guy at the desk.

A good transmission shop will let the tech get in the car with you and have you replicate the noise. I've been on hour long test drives with customers, just to try to get their transmission to replicate their complaint.

Anyone know which flexplate to use?

Externally balanced, 153 tooth, and 10.75" bolt pattern matches stock, correct?
