    Default bad lifter??

Sorry about the long story but about a month back, i went out to some street races. ran twice against a bolt on z28 (won both ) but after the second run, i heard a loud ticking. i was gonna investigate it, but the cops busted the races. when i tried to take off, my car was backfiring n such. so i slowed down and cruised towards a hamburger place here in texas called whataburger. once there, i turned it on, opened the hood, felt the passenger side valve cover and determined that it was a loose rocker. it was late and home (and tools) was far away but i had to get there. i cruised home as chill as i could and eventually made it. the next day i took off the valve cover and saw that it did come loose. i applied some loctite and readjusted all the valves since i was already there.... anyways after that i keep hearing a ticking noise coming from the motor, felt the valve cover again and can kinda feel some tapping, what do you think it can be??

Best thing at that point id pull the valve cover. And look again. Years ago if i had a ticking noise after rechecking the valves .I would start the motor and at a idle. Put some your hand on each of the rockers see if the tick goes away. If it does 1 could be a worn rocker or a lifter not pumping up. Good luck

You could of bent a pushrod, 9 times out of 10 you'll bend a pushrod before you collapse a lifter.

You could run some seafoam in the oil for a few minutes to see if it pumps up the lifter if that could be the case.

What's the Oil pressure? and when was the last oil change? Same thing happend to me. I had good oil pressure, and about a month old oil change. The only thing i did was another oil change and the tick went away. And Do you have headers? Could be an exhaust leak.

oil pressure is around 75 - 80 psi (high volume/pressure) oil change was 2000 miles ago, and i was thinking about an exhaust leak too, ill make sure that theyre tightened up tomorrow, thanks for the suggestions
