Question water pump drive/coupler if using EWP?

This may be a dumb question, but im about to have my 383 assembled and was wondering if the water pump drive and coupler are even needed if im going to be running an electric water pump?

My electric kit came with a plug.... I also filled it with epoxy for assurance.

I also ditched the LT timing chain and went double roller
