Aha, so this pretty much confirms what I was going to attempt next on ours. Needs a new valve cover gasket set (leaking) and looks like FPR too then. Thanks for posting this up!

No problem.. I should also mention...after the FPR was replaced I was advised that fp was through the roof (in excess of 55psi). Said it was smoking like crazy....so now that its been returned to spec, no smoke issue either. IDK if a previous owner increased fp to compensate for the fpr issue, or if its coincidence.
Also, there is no longer a hard start issue with the car after the first start of the day.
ONE thing I always noticed about my surging issue... is that it did not happen when the car was started.... it was only after about 30-60 seconds of idleing (switching from open to closed loop) that it would start surging. That is why I had suspicions of the 02 sensors. I cant even tell if the SES light is still on, because I covered it with the evil opti sticker I had. lol

Hmm, see ours does the same surging issue once warmed up - on cold start, it's fine. I already replaced the front 2 O2 sensors, figured the rear O2 didn't matter really so I left it alone. It's not throwing as SES light, although maybe I should check it again for a hidden code just in case.

Been driving it all week... The thing is even better and more fun to drive.
And with 137 miles of driving...the fuel guage is still just under FULL.

So was just checking the TRIP on the vette, and I have an extra 56 miles on the tank and its still reads 1/4 left. Must have really been wasting alot of fuel before.
Cant wait to get it on the dyno again.
