    Default Fuel psi regulator advice

My stock fuel PSI regulator was damaged and was wondering what ya'll would recommend for replacement. The motor is a stock 96 Z-28 engine with long tube headers and EGR delete plate. Swapped into my 78 TA.
Should I just by a stock replacement or an adjustable unit?

I would recommend getting a stock replacement. There is no need for a adjustable one.

thnx MeanTA. I was thinking along those lines since it's low HP and naturally aspirated. At what HP level doe's the stock unit need upgraded?

What I've found on upgrading fuel pressure regulators is it has more to do with the volume of fuel being sent back to the tank as opposed to horsepower level. On my car, the single 400 lph pump at idle was sending more fuel back than the regulator could handle and causing high fuel pressure. I think if I had gone with a dual pump setup with the second pump to come on at demand I wouldn't have needed the aftermarket fpr.

You hit the nail on the head. The stock FPR can only bypass so much fuel. Most people who run 255LPH pumps don't seem to have a problem. But with 400LPH, you probably hit the limit. I have dual 205LPH high pressure pumps and the second pump only runs when the nitrous system is armed. But we did a complete fuel system revamp with a Weldon AFPR, to avoid issues with the stock return. 400LPH can fuel a 1,000HP engine.
