What year is your car? On the driver side, the vacuum source for the PCV valve is a C-shaped hose that connects to a nipple on the side of the intake manifold in 93/94, while 95-97 have a longer hose that connects to a vacuum nipple under the throttle body. See Shoebox's photo:

I have a 96 z28. Could it be that the whole thing needs to be replaced?

Part of the problem is the hose I am use for the ccv isn't the gm one so I bet it isn't fitting correcting and causing the grommet thing to lift out of the valve cover, not from pressure but just because the hose itself. I just didn't want to buy the gm one because I could get pcv hose for like 0.05$.

Now the actual pipe on the driver side, yeah that isn't fitting (its the 90 degree one). It must have got blown off because the ccv hose wasn't working properly, at least I think. My dipstick didn't go anywhere but my oil fill port loosened itself and back out a little.

Just pure speculation. For all I know I could have just accidently pryed it off when trying to work around the tractioncontrol to remove the emissions crap as well as the stock manifolds. I was always moving shit over the driver valve cover becasuse the traction control really is a pain in the ass to work around so its possible I just knocked it off with the side of my arm or somthing while I was in there, but it doesn't seem like it even fits. I
would have to pry it on with a screwdriver or somthing.

Its like this pic. and it is weird how even in this pic it just loosely hangs on the nipple there. Idk I guess that is how it is supposed to work but it doesn't seem right. Also, the nipple is coated in oil so that may or may not be helpful info. I guess I Just need to buy a new pipe? 30$... jeez.

other than the pcv thing, I lost one arp washer. Can I install an arp header bolt without using the supplied washer? its only one bolt, the one where the alternator bracket used to be on the stock manifolds.

I also need some tourque specs for:

    Starter
    Alternator
idler arm (I actualyl took of the pully thing, not the bracket so I need specs for teh bolt that goes through the bearing)
dipstick ( is it ok to run without a rebolt? Can't find mine anywhere and can't get the hole on the bracket to line up because I think I bent mine... jeez. I will try a ziptie on the pcv pipe to make sure it doesn't pop off hopefully that will keep everything undercontrol. )

Sorry for multiple posts and what not, but I have seemed to figured everything out for myself. Last things to do are put starter in and 02 sensors. Pcv I swapped the 90 degree fitting so it fits the pipes better and used zip ties to secure it down better, for the ccv hose I put duct tape around the 90 degree rubber thing so it was thicker and fit inside the hole snugger. Dipstick is installed and bolted in, had to shim the bracket cause it was pissing me off from not fitting right, it should be easier to re install from now on.

I put a vacume cap over a bolt and plan to wrap it up in tape to plug the AIR hole on my lpe cai. Then Its just down to starting it up. I hope those spark plugs aren't too banged up. Either way though I would have to istall them after the headers were bolted to the engine so its really no big deal to have to go back and change them. I have the slp tool which makes things way easier for spark plugs.

Thank you all so much for the help. I truly appriciate it. I'm driving around open headers for the time being and loving every min. of it like the 19 year old I am. Thanks again!

Hey fleet feet, i know im bringing this thread bak but i have a question for ya. Since you live in the bay area if im not mistaken, and you cut off the stock exhaust system. When it comes time to smog what is your plan of action? Cali's smog laws are bullshit. So do you plan on swapping back to manifolds and going through a y pipe back to reg exhaust or do you have a smog hook up. Im curious cause im getting ready to do my swap.
