I didn't mean to sound like a dick if I came off that way. I'm going to try it the way I described and if it doesn't seem to be working correctly I will place it in a '94 style radiator hose.

Hey kinda late n sounds like you figured it out but if not, I went thru this on my LTX swap and there's a site that sells couplers you splice into your radiator hose that have a barbed fitting in them.

um running one and the quality is nice. Just plug n play but you gotta buy your own clamps.
also they have other cooling system parts that are very handy to have on file for future upgrades.

My understanding of the factory radiator is that there is a coolant/vapor separator where the head steam pipe connects. Never opened it up to see what was in the tank or how sophisticated it is. I have a Griffin aluminum radiator, and it came with the connection for the head steam return pipe. Unfortunately when I converted from the T56 to the TH400, it was totally lacking a tranny cooler.

I have a Griffin, had a buddy TIG a 1/4"npt bung, connected my steam pipe hose to that. Didn't know there was a separator supposed to be in there lol. Wish I had my stocker still, I'd tear the tank off for ya.

Well my pump is tapped and I have the steam tube running to it. I have only fired the motor and let it idle for about 5 minutes, but I'll post back and let you guys know if I have any issues.
