Default Can I use a stock balancer with an ATI hub?

Will a stock balancer mount to an ATI hub without any problems? I needed a replacement hub, so I purchased the ATI unit, knowing that I would also eventually be purchasing an ATI super damper. For now I had planned to just run the stock balancer. When I went to bolt it on, the center ring on the new hub is much larger than the hole on the existing hub, but the bolt pattern still matches up. There is just a gap of about a half inch.

Is anyone else running a stock balancer with an ATI hub?

    Help please!

Are sure? My ATI hub is significantly bigger than a stock hub.

It's definitely bigger. I'm ordering a super damper as we speak.

I was just reading your post on LS1tech too. When I was researching this awhile back, deciding what I was going to run for balancer setup, I couldn't find anything regarding differences. I was researching on ATI site and said nothing about must having to use their balancer.

So either it works or they failed to mention it does not retain stock bolt locations. Apparently my assumption was wrong based on ATI NOT providing info. I apologize.

But no foot notes regarding hub usage are highlighted except 3 or 6 bolt and usage of a washer.

The ATI hub retains the factory 3 bolt pattern. However, there are extra bolt holes added for a super damper. The difference is, the diameter of the slip on portion of the hub is larger on the ATI unit and does not allow you to slip the factory balancer on.

yup. we got screwed with the index ring on the vortech pulley is also smaller the the hole on the ati hub. we had to have a index sleeve made for the stock vortech pulley. then when we had the custom lower wheel made by asp and they cut it for the ati hub.
