Finally found a T-56 Parts Car!
I have been in the process of a performance ground-up rebuild of my 93 Camaro and finally located a donor T-56 Camaro for my tranny swap. It has been significantly more difficult to locate parts in Hawaii than it would be on the mainland so I am pretty happy.
The car is a bone stock 94 z28 that was rear-ended pretty badly. The car can still move but the rear fender wells rub pretty harshly on both tires when going forward so it can't drive well. Also the hood was crunched so I can't exactly see where I am going.
Lucky for me the engine and transmission are in great shape with only 65k miles on them. I bought it off some guy on craigslist that resells cars he buys at auction. Luckily he had his own flatbed truck to haul the car over here with. I got it for $2500 delivered so I think I got a pretty good deal considering I cant find a decent used T-56 setup for less than 1600 plus the cost of shipping it here.
The plastic is because there is a huge gap between the rear hatch and the rest of the rear end from the accident. We get some nasty rainfall here in Hawaii.
Looks like the car was rear-ended pretty hard and then ran into the car in front of it from the force of impact. Only damage in the engine compartment is to top of the radiator support. All engine components and accessories are working fine.
The owner had the foresight to use seat covers. No ripped driver side seat!
Other than a little dirt, the front and rear seats are in amazing condition. Only downside is that it has tan cloth interior.
No rips or significant wear on anything on the interior. Really quite amazing after seeing so many of these cars in terrible condition. Even the center console cover hinge is intact! Feels like it will break after some repeated use though
The reason why this is a donor car
I will be pulling the engine/trans this coming week to get my tranny swap parts and I will be parting out everything but the interior over the coming month. Let me know what you guys think.1996 Z28 SS M6 Polo Green Metallic - Built 355 from my 93

Nice find. You should make up a build thread for your 93, I'm sure everyone would love to follow along.

Yes not bad at all considering your location. Plus whenever you finish you still have $400 in scrap

I have been wanting to do a build thread but it is just so tedious to document everything. I guess from the point I am at now it won't be too bad. I will start the build thread today I suppose.
I'm hoping that once I pull the parts I need I can still get a few hundred for the rest of the stuff before I junk the car. There is so much work to be done though that it feels a little overwhelming.1996 Z28 SS M6 Polo Green Metallic - Built 355 from my 93
