Thread: Turbo Drain

Ok spoke to soon, the starter bolts up fine.

I am just curious about what exactly I need to have as far as the drain line. The turbo drain is roughly 15 inch and the drain point is 9 inch off the ground. Now, I can't have a straight shot there as the crank hub is there, is it that important to have a perfect straight shot?

Worst case it smokes under boost and I get a scavenge pump right?

no its not that important. you just want to have the turbo higher the the drain and to have no slopes in the return line (so in other words dont go up and down). and to have the oil return in the oil pan above the oil level.

    Ok got some pics ..

    Look sideways at the turbo

Don't mind the ziptie, just wanted to hold it away from crank hub and get an idea

    And finally down into pan

Overall, the oil all goes down hill, just not too confident on it. For now I think I will make it work though.
