    here's the question.....#1).can i still stay with the 350 block and go from a 383 to a 396.
once again, thanks for your help
Those are the head I run. A problem that you may have is that you won't be able to run your current shaft rocker setup. The 227's require a specific set of offset rockers. I personally wouldn't run a huge camshaft without shaft rockers. Another problem with the 227 heads is that they have 60/40 valve spacing. The valves are slid over towards the exhaust side a tiny bit. This makes piston choice CRITICAL since 95% of the pistons out there won't have the valve notches in the correct spot. If you know that going into the build it's not a big deal. The correct pistons aren't much more money. The AFR 210cc COMP ported head will get you the power you need to run 10's and would allow you to run your current rocker arms. DO NOT pay retail for AFR heads! Send an email to a dealer and ask them how low they can go on a particular set. They aren't allowed to ADVERTISE their rock bottom prices, but they can email a better price to you. Shoot me a pm and I will tell you where I got mine and what I paid.

Yes your 350 block can be taken out to a 396 just as easily as a 383. There are more parts available to build a 383 including cast cranks for cheaper stroker kits. As far as I know there are no cast 3.875" cranks to make a 396. I would not piece together a stroker kit. I would purchase a rotating assembly from a company. Try ohiocrank.com . They have a very good reputation for their in-house brand of stuff.
