    Default sputters at high rpm in 4th

    the car sputters at 4000 to 4500 rpm in 4th gear only, its kind weird and i dont know what it could be? any help would be great?

    I'm going to guess its fuel related. At that rpm in forth gear its going to have a pretty good load on the engine. Plugged fuel filter, weak fuel pump, or ecm could be pulling timing due to poor fuel quality. Going to have to datalog it to know for sure though.

    ok thanks. also it just feel like a dog right outta the hole. but once it hits 2000 it starts to just pull hard. i went to the track on friday and the best 60' time was 2.287. the car is all stock. could that just be a gearing thing?

    Id start by looking in to what firebird said. Check plugs, wires, fuel pressure etc. Have you noticed a discernable miss at idle or throughout the RPM range?
