Default 97 trans am help needed

Long story short I havent had a chance to touch the 97 but its time is coming soon and here is the 1 issue I cant figure out. The PO was messing with the door when I bought it but now it wont work and open. I am wondering if i can take the front hinges off since the front fenders will both be off anyway and wiggle the door and get it unhooked from the back latch? it is the drivers side and has been the one thing I havent really addressed yet but i figured I would ask before I attempt something and mess anything up namely the door latch mechanism.

If there is something wrong with the latch, taking off the hinges wont do anything. Get the door panel off and get to it. Probably easier to take the seat out, pry the panel off then get too. Try to keep collateral damage to a minimum

Agreed. It's going to be a pita to get the panel off with the door closed, but that's about the only way you can go about it unfortunately.
