tunning out egr with tunner pro rt
Okay I am really new to tuning so all the help you guys give me in my learning process is greatly appreciated. I am using tunnerpro RT to tune the car. I may ask you to clarify stuff because this is something that makes me a little nervous but i really want to learn.
The first thing I want to do is to tune out the egr valve and to return the knock sensor values back to there stock setting. How do i go about doing this.

Well, I really cant comment on exactly how to do it in tuner pro, but you should look for something called switch table to turn off the SES light. I also always change the values involving EGR to something crazy that the car will never hit. Like 0 KPa and 7000 rpm etc. As for returning the knock sensor to stock it should be the stock unless someone has tuned the car. If someone has modified it, the best thing to do is to find a stock file and enter the values from the stock file into your tune file.
Wish I knew more about tuner pro. Good luck, tuning is tricky but with practice you'll start to understand it.95 Impala SS Clone

Okay so I have had some time to get to play with the program today and I see exactly what you are talking about. there are scalars for minimum map so that i would want to set to 0 right and then a minim and maximum rpm those i would want to push up to the 7k range ? right
okay now under flags which is a on off (1 for on 0 for off) only setting there is egr diagnostic error 32 I would want to set 0 or off right?

That's it. EGR will be enabled when those condition's are met. With it set to 0kpa and 7000 rpm. (Which your engine shouldn't see) It should never activate. Turning the error code off will prevent the Check Engine light from coming on.
Are you disabling EGR temporally or doing it for good? Because wile your at it you should turn off the light for the AIR pump. That's if your deleting the entire emissions system. Oh and if you haven't got it, there's a program called FreeScan. Which you can use to log and view live data. It works well and the best part is its FREE.95 Impala SS Clone

I haven't made up my mind yet I think Im going to delete it for now and keep everything. I wouldn't mess with it but Its throwing codes and we cant seem to diagnose the issue. so I would rather just remove it for the time being. If it wasnt for my visual emissions test id throw it in the trash.
yah the car will never see 7k
I have been date logging with Tunerpro before that i used my scanner to data monitor. But ill give freescan a try just because its free.
thanks for the help it is greatly appreciated.
