Yep, this is true. That guy's thread sparked my interest in sharpening my 3D modeling skills..so I downloaded Autodesk Inventor and am starting to design some things. I'd like to design some things for the LTX market (based off popular desires), and work with a supplier/retailer to get them going. I'd sell the R&D to them for pretty cheap, compared to how much it would cost to do the design work themselves. I just like to design stuff and see the LTX market get a bit more for options.
Example of having good tools to work with as an engineer that works at a factory: I designed a bracket, cut it on a laser, and bent it. Now I have a nice bracket for mounting my master cylinders for my hot rod to...no drilling or fitting needed...took about 30 minutes'97 Z28...Sleeper648 RWHP 585 TQ - Speed INC Tuned! 383, F1A, blah blah
