Ready to tune, looking for guidance

Hey Guys,
I am finally ready to make some changes. I have tunerpro rt v5.0 and have read the current hypertech tune off the car. i would like to start with eliminating vats, air, egr, and tcs. i need to get a wideband still but would like to get the above done now. i was running through the flags.... basically how do i disable this stuff so i can load it to the car?

i took a stab at it, i assume that unchecking the set box disables. so what is C.A.R.S.? i also disabled CCP as it was still setting a code along with 3-2 downshift. anyother recommendations? i have the following;

mid length headers, or-y with single 3 inch
ported stock heads and intake
52mm tb
cc 305
ws6 hood n airbox
descreened MAF (done before i bought) i am sure there are things i need to adjust for this...

do i need to get the updated knock module?

would like to help highway mpg's more than power right now, have a 1500 mile trip happening in a week. will work on power when i get long tubes and a wideband.
