Default Paint decisions, Intake Mfld, Acc Bracket, T Cover etc...

As assembly of my LE2 draws near, I need to decide on paint. I plan to use a higher end 2 part activated paint. Rattle cans and rustoleum have had their day. I don't plan to pull this engine apart ever. So the paint needs to hold.

I have been using PPG's Omni products at work and home for a little wile now. Stuff is tough, goes on smooth and is quite easy to spray. Anyone have any experience with any Urethane's or Epoxy based paints on aluminum? I plan to paint my intake mfld, timing cover, aluminum parts of the alternator, water pump and a few things I am sure forgetting. I want something dark (so it looks clean even when its not ), but I don't want super flashy. I'm leaning towards a very dark red with lighter red metal flake or some sort of red metallic additive. Or dark dark gloss black with the same metal flake/metallic additive either red or blue. Anyone have any pics or color suggestions of what they have done? Or paint products/methods?

Not really advice....but a question. Have you considered powdercoatng? Much more durable than paint and a wide range of colors and textures to choose from.

    Postin' on the go......
