Default New guy 95 LT1/A4 transplant

    Hello all,

Found the site a month or so ago looking for some info on the LTX Shootout which I spectated at when it was in KC.

I've got a 71 Nova with a 95 Camaro LT1 & 4L60E that I put in 5-6 years ago. It went in stock and I've since changed the cam to a Comp Cams 07-466-8 (218/224 & .570/.565) cam with 1.6 roller rockers, CAI, LT4 KM, airfoil, long tubes & 2 1/2" true duals w/flowmasters, and a MadZ28 mail order tune. I have a bit of nitrous that I've used on it in the past and hopefully will again. I also put in a 3500 Vigilante stall. Out back is a 9" with 3.25's that will soon be 4.11's. The car also has Hotchkis front suspension, LS1 4 wheel disc brakes and 18" rims, a/c, great stereo, etc. Basically I'm looking for new car comfort & convenience with old car looks.

Best 1/4 mile times are 13.6 @ 100 without NOS and 12.65 @ 110 with. 60' times are 2.0-2.1's. Looking at the times of some of the bolt on guys I think it should do better than that.

I have Tunercat and Datamaster to try the tuning thing myself and will be searching the board for tips. If anyone has a tune for a similar setup they would be willing to share I'd love to see it.

Any comments or suggestions are appreciated.

    WELCOME!

Sounds like a pretty sweet ride you got there. I my self am planning on dropping an LT1 in the 74 Nova I purchased a month or so ago. Since you have Tuner Cats, check out your trans tables. Bump up your main line pressure to about 110-115 at %100 throttle, take all the shift times tables down to zero and move your shift points around so you can take advantage of your cam Whats that beast weigh? Do you have traction bars? How big of a shot were you running?

I haven't weighed my car for several years but I think it was around 3350 with me in it. I no longer have traction bars on it but am looking for a set of Caltracs to put on it. I think the shot was about 75-100, it's a pieced together fogger nozzle wet kit.

I'll look into the trans tables, I do remember messing with them a couple years ago. Thanks for the tips.

I saw your post on the car and I'm anxious to see what you can do with the 74, it's an easy swap.
