    Default Stand alone unit?????

    hey guys and gals had a question about the stand alone units? I'm putting one on my car soon because i had the car tuned on pump gas and that limits me to a very small shot because of the high; compression issue. My question is, how much of a pain are they to wire up and what exactly do you have to do to wire one up.... im 99% sure im going with the 3 gallon cell from nitrous outlet... any input/opinions would be greatly appreciated

    Shouldn't be hard. You will have to plum the fuel line under the car to your nawz solenoid. Basically, most people wire the pump up to turn on when they arm their system. I would install a bleeder valve just before your solenoid so you can bleed the system before you spray. And a check valve just after your pump to help prevent air entering the system.

    Thanks 95 thats what i figured... it already has a purge on it so i think i'm good to go there. As far as the kit goes it comes with a spring for the adjustable fuel pressure regulator that you can change out to alter between high and low pressure... do you run high or low pressure depending on how high of shot you want to put to it?

    Usually you will run high pressure on a plate or single nozzle system and low pressure on direct ports.

    My dedicated is wired to turn on the pump when I arm the system. I also have a FPSS wired in to protect against fuel pressure drops.

    Ok thaks alot Formula that clears things up a bit. As far as retarding timing goes is it high dependent on what type of fuel your running (meth, race gas,etc..)? i plan on running 110 octane in the stand alone tank and obviously since the car is on pump gas it will be getting 93 octane fed to it.... the car has a multi step retard in it so i can throw different chips in it as i vary the shot size, which its gonna see a 150 for the most part with a 200 maybe. And it will be getting a tune as well.

    And Formula where abouts do you have your fuel pressure safety switch? between the regulator and tank???? and how abouts do you wire that up?

    As far as timing goes, read your plugs when you are tuning or at the track and find the right number. Most people will tell you to pull 2* per 50hp added to get started. Typically you can run a little more timing with higher octane, but if you are planning on running pump in the tank, just get your tune and timing right and leave the timing alone. The amount of race gas in the dedicated being consumed with nitrous really isn't enough to warrant a bump in timing.
