Tips and tricks for exhaust manifold bolts?
Hey all. Got a nasty exhaust leak that I just cant stand to listen to anymore, driving me crazy. The leak is on the passengers side towards the back. I was able to get to the very last bolt closest to the firewall with a stubby 9/16 wrench and that bolt was loose so I tightened it up. Now im trying to get to the next one, it would be the 5th bolt from the front, second from the firewall. How do I access this bolt. I can get my fingers on it but cant get a wrench or socket on it, just not enough room. I can feel the air puffing out so the leak is still there. Is there any tricks to getting this bolt, any paticular combo of swivels and extensions that can be used. I know im gonna wind up replacing the gasket but I just wanna see if I can quiet it down for a little while. thanks. Oh car is a 95 Z28 with stock exhaust manifolds.

i found my snap on S wrench to be my best friend when messing with header bolts
what I do have are a very particular set of skills; skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that allow me to do with things that would be a nightmare for people like you.

It's time consuming but you can undo the passenger side motor mount and lift the engine on 1 side to give you more clearance.
