What are you planning on using them for? They are some serious heads, and would be a waste of money without the proper cam and bottom end (much less the intake).

That is a huge port size, so you'll need a VERY aggressive camshaft with tons of lift and duration to get the port velocity up, not to mention tons of RPMs as well. Depending on your set goals, they may be a bit much.

Why does the Edelbrock intake suck? I have one....and making big power.
The 227's would require solid roller valvetrain, a stout motor, and a huge cam. EFI Connection would be nice to have along with it. I think the 227's also need shaft-mount rockers, but don't quote me on that.
You could go with Trick Flow 215's from AI, or the AFR 210's that I have with competition porting...they can do just as well. But to each their own.'97 Z28...Sleeper648 RWHP 585 TQ - Speed INC Tuned! 383, F1A, blah blah

Dyno your car with the Edelbrock intake then dyno it with a stock intake and see why it sucks ^

You "assume" the Edelbrock intake would dyno lower because of the GMHTP article, and internet BS.
Truth is on his FI build the larger ports on the Edelbrock may be benefitting him.
On a mild build anything but the stock intake is absolutely a waste of money. But that doesn't automatically mean that the Edelbrock or others are automatically junk for every build.
It's the combination of parts you have to look at, not just one piece...
