    Default piston selection

I need help picking a set of pistons. I want to run stock crank with forged 6" rods and have a compression ratio in the 9.5 to 10:1 range. I want forged and will be using stock heads and a stock gasket with no machining to the heads or block. Any part numbers would be really appreciated.

i strongly suggest you have the block machined for your new forged pistons weather you buy std or .030 pistons to be certain there is enough clearence between the bore and piston..
you should select a piston that will suit your needs, on a budget look for a speed-pro piston for 6" rod and if you have a little extra cash look for an SRP piston, diamond or mahle.go all out for a JE style piston....

Yeah I forgot I want to run .30 over. I meant no decking of the block.

    gotcha...
i would definately look into the selections i suggested then make your descision based upon what you need that piston to do..support high RPM,nitrous etc. also try to choose the lightest weight piston that is in your budget

Will these work? How do you figure out compression ratio?
