    Default comp 918 question

Hey guys so Im thinking of buying some comp 918 valve springs for my future cc503 cam that im going to put in my LT4. Would I be able to reuse my LT4 retainers and locks for the 918 springs or will I have to buy a new set of retainers and locks? If I have to buy new components do you guys have part numbers for the parts I need?

You will need to use the new retainers and locks since they are a different style valve spring. The 918's are beehives correct? I think those are what I have in my car. I can check the part numbers tomorrow for you

I don't think you can reuse the hardware because of the nature of the Beehive springs, I.E. they're narrower up top than the standard coil of the LT4's.

Gotcha, yea it was for the comp 918 beehive springs. I also found a guy that was selling the Crane Cams 10308 valve spring kit for a good deal. Would you guys choose the crane kit over the comp behive springs?

Currently, yeah, because there's been a recent batch of issues with the beehive's breaking.

The 10308 kit is what I bought for my 388 build.

I ordered cups too, to keep the valve springs from dnacing around and eating away at the aluminum heads. The should always be used on aluminum heads expecially.

I'm not a fan of single springs, no matter what the advertising hype says.
