    if you instal the base,upper shoud assembly it is tough to close the hood it will not latch. so adding the actual lid will definately not fit. you can instal the lid only with a bit of fabwork as most of us have already done.

    imo if you have your stock LT1 WS6 airbox, that is the best intake for an LT1 car. I added an oem hood/airbox to mine last year.

    i know for a fact that the fostory lsi lid setup will NOT work under an ss hood.
    1996 ss m6 white and black hardtop
    custom everything, cam, heads, 8.8 w/4.10s, duals you name it.

    well again, i think i have more clearance than a factory SS hood... but if it was no where even close to fitting then it doesnt matter.
