I am in your shoes as well i am 29 and have been bustin knuckles since i was 15 and i am pretty well over it. I love workin on cars but doing it for living makes me not want to work on my own stuff. I am trying for a change and have been workin pretty hard to do so. I work and manage a family owned shop my dad owns it, i can come back if i want and i can work on the side a little if i miss it to much i guess.

Yeah i loved working on cars prior to school but once i turned it into a career it all changes.. I've noticed after talking to numerous techs that i worked with they feel the same why, so instead of letting this go on i have contacted Front Range Community College and leanign towards something to do with busines, accounting or welding..
It's been a tough choice but and a good learning experience but i feel like if i don't change the situation now i never will..
Thanks for all of your inputs and insights but i feel like i've made a good choice for my future..2008 Corvette-full exhaust, tune and soon a custom cam
2011 WRX- DD
1997 WS6- Forged LSX swap
1994 Z28- Forged, Stroked, LE cam, Boosted, T56 swap, 24X, etc.

Id take a semester and get all your general educations out of the way. You will need them anyways and this will give you a few more months before you dive right into a different profession

I totally agree with you buddy ! Now you see why I was always ranting about not
having the drive to mod my own cars, because the career I was in killed my drive
completelyBest of luck !
