    Default obd1 to usb ???

I just bought a OBD1 to USB cable from a guy on the ls1lt1 forums, can I use lt1 edit or something to program with this cable or just scan it with this cable? And where can I find the drivers to install on my laptop so I can use this cable.

yep, I use the usb cable I got from AKM with my macbook pro. Works flawlessly after all the POS serial cables and old computers I tried to use.

I believe a link to the drivers can be found on the AKM site. I know the serial drivers are there. If you're unable to locate it, I can post again when I get home to my bookmarks.

    try this:

The AKM USB Cables are now shipping! These instructions are an attempt to help get you up and running with your new USB cable. The USB cable is based on the FTDI FT232BM interface chip. If you should lose your installation CD, you can go to http://www.ftdichip.com and download the drivers. Note that you need the Virtual COM Port (VCP) drivers, and *not* the DLL (Dynamic Link Library) version of their drivers
It ain't stock!! 94 z A4 383 Lunati Crank..Manley H-beams...Mahle pro series Flat tops... AI 200cc head/cam/intake... getting closer.. hoping for VERY low 11's, high 10's, then NX

So I just got my obd1 to usb cable today, and when I went to scan my car with TTS Datamaster, it said "Connection is good, but unable to communicate with pcm" or something like that. I have it plugged in correct and all the drivers for the cable are installed, what's the deal?
Also, when I look at my pin outs, it looks like only 4 pins have contacts, is that how they are supposed to be (A,B,M,G)?

Try another COM port. I never could figure it out until I tried another, and BAM it worked.
