thinner gasket 4 a good price!!!
Ok so im in the middle of a head gasket replacement ( not ass hard as I thought ) and was shocked to see how much the gaskets set cost ( yeah im cheap ). But I hear that a thinner gasket ( impala gasket ) would bump up the compression and give me a little more power. Is this true and would it make it easier to blow the gasket again? And where can I find it 4 the lowest price or even the stock replacement. Thanks in advance!!!

Yes thinner head gaskets will up your compression in turn giving more power. It won't be a huge difference though if you even notice it. I'm using these, I know it says for steel headed engines but they work fine and were reccomended by Lloyd Elliott. I believe they're also the thinnist available.

Also invest in some ARP head bolts for your reassembly.Last edited by 96LT1355Z28; 06-13-2009 at 06:04 PM.

I am using the same head gaskets. They have worked great for me so far.
