So the stock hub only has room for the Woodruff key for the timing gear ... I have a sbc crank and forgot to remove the key for the hub ... so what do I buy to fit ... will a sbc hub seal on a lt1 timing cover?

you can have a stock LT1 hub keyed or buy a aftermarket hum/damper that is keyed

or just remove the key and use a stock LT1 hub. From what I can see in your pic looks like the forward key can just come out

The forward key can be removed but the rear key is a full length key, not the lt1 key that has the front part flush with the nose. The stock hub wouldn't seat all the way on without the stock key.

If your local machine shop can't machine your stock hub for a key....Golen Engine does them for $50 IIRC
