Thread: Rod bolts

    Default Rod bolts

Hey, I pulled my LT1 out to do a few things to like new oil pan gasket, motor mounts, headers, clutch and flywheel. I wanted to check the rod and main bearings while I have the pan off just to see how they look. My question is can I re-use the rod bolts if I pull them off? Basically all I will be doing is pulling the rod cap off, check to make sure the bearings are ok and re-torque them down to factory specs.
I didn't know if these are a one time use bolt or not?

Yes you can re use. If you need to replace bearings you should ether replace with arp rod bolts and re size rods or go with aftermarket rods. Then in the future if you decide to build you have security.
