    Default not LTX but I have a question

    @Cahall

    I have a 85 vette 700R4 for the 87 trans am project. I know the tail shaft housing is different and i still have the f body one for the tq arm. how do I mount to a cross member? do i just use the vette one and relocate the tq arm to the cross member and make the vette tail shaft fit the cross member?

    thanks!

    You can't use a Corvette 700R4 in an F-Body. The case has no place to bolt a traditional mount and the output shaft is 1" shorter on the Vette unit.

    Hmmmm. That sucks. Now I guess I will have a challenge when I get to that point. Lol. Or a core for you. :-)

    I used a vette 4l60e in a lt1 bird I had no issues. It was out of a 96 vette. I just swapped the tail housing. I guess the 700r4 is different.
