95 trans am a/c problems
Okay, well my ac hasn't been cooling lile it should. I then.found a leak in compressor replaced it with a new unit. Replaced dryer, expansion valve and condenser. Flused the system out 3 times. Pulled system down for around a hr. Worked great. Then 6 months later my new problems started. I know system is full. Will not cool car down at all pressures are low side 10-15 hight 220-275 high pressure side verys alot with fans comming on and off.. So i figured i would pull systen down again and see what happends, no leaks found compressor is good. As i went to charge it, the low psi line froze up before low pressure fitting. Back side was warm. So i got it to cool. Now pressure are back to being way out of wack. Could this be a bad expansion valve?

What was the ambient temp when this happened? The line freezing near the charging port while adding refrigerant is normal. Depending on the temp of the engine and ambient temp you could have a pretty good split in pressure but it does appear to be a little much. You could have a restriction at the metering device. When you installed the compressor did you change out the little screen that goes in the liquid line before the orifice. I'm thinking they went from a fixed orifice to txv after a certain year but I can't recall, so the screen thing may not apply....

Sounds like a restriction at the txv. Could be anything that found its way in during the compressor change.
