    Default LC1 usb cable?

I'm trying to log my LC1 to my laptop for logging vs rpm. The cable it came with is the 3.5mm to female serial analog cable and the serial port on my laptop is also female. So I either need a male/male adapter to use this cable, or here's my question:

Is there a 3.5mm to usb cable, or since its analog is there a serial to usb adapter box to plug this cable into then a usb to laptop cable?

It is unusual for a serial connector on a pc to be female (without pins). Are you sure you are looking at the right connector, not one for the display maybe?

Here is a discussion about the USB adapters. They are a bit tricky to get working correctly. I would recommend ones with the FTDI chip. not the Prolific one.
